Counseling Services Offered

Since everyone is different and will bring their own, unique issues to therapy, I approach each client with an individualistic approach to best suit your needs. My therapy approach pulls from a variety of different models, including solution-focused, cognitive-behavior therapy, applied behavioral analysis, strengths-based, client-centered, and dialectical behavior therapy.

Our first meeting will consist of an intake session where we will discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, explore goals that you would like to achieve during your time in therapy, and discuss the frequency and length of counseling that may best fit your needs.

Individual counseling provides you with the opportunity to process and work through the issues that brought you to counseling in a safe and unbiased one-on-one environment.

Individuals come to counseling to address a variety of issues and concerns, including:

  • depression

  • anxiety

  • relationship and family conflict

  • stress management

  • grief and loss

  • other emotional or behavioral issues

My goal is to help guide you to a greater understanding of the problem, as well as develop an increased sense of self-awareness and emotional health. Working together, we can identify and implement the most effective solutions based on your unique circumstances.

Couples Counseling

Couples counseling is a valuable opportunity for couples who want to build a healthy and long-lasting relationship. It can be a worthwhile investment for the long-term, providing couples with the skills and strategies they need to manage life together in a healthy way.

Common issues addressed during couples counseling include:

  • problems with communication

  • infidelity

  • parenting

  • conflict resolution

However, couples counseling is not just for unhappy couples. It can also be helpful in giving each person involved fundamental tools and healthy coping strategies to manage their communication, discuss their problems rationally, and grow in healthy ways. I often reference evidence-based Gottman Method interventions, which emphasize strategies that increase understanding & empathy between partners, allowing each person to feel heard and supported. I will help to provide a non-threatening, compassionate environment for you and your partner to examine and improve your relationship.

Adolescent Counseling

Adolescents, just like adults, can participate in and benefit from counseling. Counseling can help your teenager learn how to identify causes of their distress, develop appropriate emotional expression, and improve their problem-solving abilities.

Common stressors dealt with in adolescent counseling include:

  • family conflict

  • depression

  • anxiety

  • school stressors

  • low self-esteem

  • independence

Teenage years are challenging for both teens and parents and can introduce many new pressures. Counseling can be helpful in helping your teen discover healthier ways to deal with the new problems and stressors they may encounter. I also understand that many parents have questions about their adolescent's therapeutic process and progress, and I often try to incorporate parents or caregivers in the therapy process when appropriate.
